Dear Colorado Transportation Commissioners,

As the Commission moves toward final discussions and deliberations regarding the Rules Governing the Statewide Transportation Planning Process and Transportation Planning Regions (Rules), Move Colorado would like to thank you and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) staff for the time and effort you have put forth in this important endeavor.

This work requires a delicate balance that involves multiple levels of technical consideration and an acknowledgement of the benefits and impacts to individuals, the environment, and our state’s economy. It requires an eye to the future, and perhaps a new way of operating, but it must also acknowledge the vast differences and needs of Colorado citizens and businesses across the state.

With this as the backdrop, as you weigh the final decisions you will make in this Rules process, we urge you to be pragmatic and to seek balance; to look to the future, but to consider your actions with a lens that allows the economy to continue to thrive. To ensure long-term success, we urge you to take the time to address all questions and seek additional analysis, if needed. We remain committed to working alongside you and reiterate our willingness to provide expertise through our membership of technical experts that in addition to engineers, includes professionals with strong environmental and public outreach backgrounds.

Thank you again for the opportunity to submit comments throughout this process. Copies of Move Colorado’s two previous submissions are attached for reference.

Our sincere thanks to you for your commitment to Colorado.

Warm Regards,

Tamra J. Ward, Executive Director
